Avellino – Forty burglaries were carried out and twelve more attempted in just four months. The operation by the Carabinieri of the Solofra Company, which dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to apartment burglaries in Campania, Lazio, Molise, and Abruzzo, concluded with four arrest warrants.
Four Albanian nationals, aged between 24 and 38, were arrested. The warrant, issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Avellino Court at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, headed by Acting Chief Prosecutor Francesco Raffaele, alleges the crime of criminal conspiracy to commit residential burglaries.
The investigations, conducted between January and April, allowed the reconstruction of the extensive network of robberies carried out in the provinces of Avellino, Salerno, Benevento, Latina, Frosinone, Isernia, Campobasso, and L'Aquila. This complex investigative effort was carried out through wiretaps, analysis of phone records, video surveillance images, photographic surveys, and witness statements.
The investigations revealed a clear division of roles within the group: two of the suspects acted as drivers and lookouts, ensuring escape routes, while the other two were responsible for the actual break-ins. To avoid detection, the four used rental cars, which they changed with obsessive frequency, and phone cards registered to fictitious third parties for operational communications.
A well-rehearsed modus operandi that netted the gang a total haul of cash and valuables estimated at tens of thousands of euros. The prison doors were wide open for all.
