Naples - An armed man barricaded himself inside his home on Via Nicotera, near the Spanish Quarter. According to initial reports, the man was alone in his apartment.

Officers from the Naples Police Headquarters' Upgsp unit went to the man's home to execute a warrant for his arrest, but the person under the warrant refused to answer the officers. The officers are now trying to persuade the man.

Law enforcement was deployed immediately: the entire area was secured and cordoned off to ensure the protection of residents and facilitate operations. The surrounding roads were completely closed to traffic, resulting in a traffic standstill in the central part of the city.

Several patrols are on site to manage the emergency and initiate initial contact and mediation attempts.
