Venezia has officially announced two key signings for their defense: Pasquale Mazzocchi and Juan Jesus. Mazzocchi, 31, returns to the orange and green jersey after playing for the club in the 2020/21 seasons, during which he helped secure promotion to Serie A and their debut in the top flight.
His new contract with Venezia includes an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met. In two previous seasons with the Venetian club, Mazzocchi made 60 appearances, scoring one goal and two assists. He spent his final season with Napoli, making 54 appearances and participating in the 2024/25 Scudetto and 2025/26 Italian Super Cup triumphs. Overall, the defender has made 124 Serie A appearances, scoring two goals and providing nine assists.
Juan Jesus, 35, arrives as a free agent on a one-year contract with the option to extend subject to specific conditions. During his Italian career, he played for Inter and Roma before joining Napoli in 2021, where he won two Scudetto titles. The Brazilian defender has made 280 Serie A appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists, as well as 37 appearances in the Europa League and 24 in the Champions League.
With these two additions, Venezia aims to strengthen their defense by relying on players with proven experience in the Italian top flight and with recent experience at a top-level team like Napoli.
