Naples – Safety, innovation, and protection for those on the front lines every day. The Neapolitan association is leveraging new technologies to combat assaults and risky situations during rescue operations.

Technology is increasingly entering the world of emergency medical services, and this time, it's being implemented through a non-profit organization working daily in the field. Soccorso Napoli-Sanità ODV announces the introduction of body cameras for its operators, with the aim of enhancing staff safety during interventions and helping prevent incidents of violence.

The appeal to institutions and citizens

But technology alone isn't enough. Because no bodycam can ever replace respect.
Soccorso Napoli-Sanità ODV makes a strong and in no uncertain terms appeal to citizens, institutions and the entire healthcare and volunteer world: let's stop the violence against those who provide assistance.

Those who arrive in an ambulance don't come to judge, don't come to provoke, don't come to take anyone's place. They come to help. They come to heal. They come, when possible, to save a life.
So, no more threats. No more attacks. No more insults to those who wear a uniform and are doing their duty.

Behind the uniform there is a person

Behind every first responder is a person. There's a volunteer who has chosen to dedicate their time to others. There's a driver who crosses the city to arrive as quickly as possible. There's a health worker who enters a home, a street, or an emergency location to care for someone in their most difficult moment.
These people should not be forced to choose between helping others and protecting themselves.

A pact of community and respect

We demand concrete responses from the institutions: more prevention, more training, more protection tools, and greater attention to those who work in the local area every day.

We ask associations to team up, share experiences, and build an increasingly stronger network for operator safety.

And to citizens, we make the simplest, yet perhaps most important, appeal: when an ambulance arrives, don't obstruct it. When a first responder arrives, respect them. When you see someone attacking someone who's providing assistance, don't turn away.

Because defending a rescuer means defending the very possibility of being rescued.
Body cameras can be a deterrent, a means of protection, and an added guarantee. But the real victory will be the day they are no longer needed for fear of attack, but remain merely a symbol of a modern, safe, and respected healthcare system.
Those who save lives cannot be left alone.
Those who help must be protected.
Anyone who wears a uniform to help deserves respect.
Always.

The Vice President's message

Protecting those who choose to serve others every day is not just a duty: it's the responsibility of the entire community. No rescuer should be afraid while trying to save a life.
