Naples – A beauty salon that's been featured prominently in promotional videos on TikTok and Instagram, yet is completely non-existent in the eyes of the tax authorities and lacks any health or business license. This is what the Carabinieri of the Naples Poggioreale Company, supported by personnel from the Naples 1 Central Health Authority, discovered during an extraordinary patrol of the eastern outskirts of the Campania capital.
The business offered beauty treatments, hair styling, piercings, and tattoos. Inspections revealed that the owner was operating in complete absence of the required legal permits and authorizations, including systematically failing to issue tax documents. Upon completion of the inspection, the police ordered the precautionary seizure of the entire property and notified the manager of administrative fines totaling €1.500.
The outcome of the "high impact" blitz
The intervention at the illegal center is part of a broader operation to monitor the area of Poggioreale and the surrounding neighborhoods, aimed at combating widespread illegality and improving road safety.
During checkpoints and dynamic checks, law enforcement officers identified 80 people, checked 42 vehicles, and issued 18 tickets for traffic violations.
Five reports of tax evasion, illegal connections, and weapons
The extraordinary service led to the reporting at liberty of five people for various crimes:
Aggravated electricity theft: A 65-year-old man was reported after an inspection by Enel technicians, who confirmed that the meter in his home had been tampered with;
Escape from house arrest: a 72-year-old man was charged with escaping from his home during the check;
Repeated driving without a license: A 47-year-old and a 35-year-old were reported for being caught driving without a license, a violation they had already committed within the last two years;
Illegal possession of weapons: a 31-year-old man was arrested and found in possession of a 20-centimeter-long switchblade, which was seized.
