Maddaloni welcomes the great opera, and does so with a captivating and legendary title: "Cavalleria Rusticana." The masterpiece, based on Giovanni Verga's novella of the same name, marked Pietro Mascagni's debut in 1890 and the affirmation of musical verismo.
The Domenico Cimarosa Orchestra , conducted by Maestro Ivano Caiazza , will perform the opera in the splendid setting of the Basilica Minore del Corpus Domini at 21:00 PM. A sensitive and passionate performer, Caiazza will evoke all the evocative power of this famous melodrama, conveying its emotional intensity and narrative power.
The meticulously crafted staging intertwines with the beauty of the location and the emotional dimension of the opera, which centers on a tale of love and jealousy marked by the rigid code of honor of late-19th-century rural Sicily. The orchestra's artistic prowess and the dramatic power of the score will offer audiences an immersive experience, characterized by an authentic and overwhelming crescendo of tension and emotion.
The city is preparing to experience an evening of great culture, conceived and organized for the citizens by the Department of Culture and Events of the Municipality of Maddaloni . This choice confirms the administration's desire to build community through initiatives that make culture a shared and accessible resource.
All that remains is to be enchanted by the magic of opera, experiencing a free evening that promises to captivate the audience with the power of musical theatre and the great value of art.
The appointment is for Saturday 12 September, at 21:00 pm , at the Minor Basilica of Corpus Domini in Maddaloni.
