Torre Annunziata – The persistent battles waged by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green and Left Alliance, against the "denied sea" and abuses of public property are raising citizens' awareness of their rights. Reports of obstacles, gates, degradation, and impassable access to public beaches are growing.
This is the case on Via Prota, in Torre Annunziata, where residents are demanding safe access to the sea again. Access to the beach and the Mancinelli area is reportedly closed or impassable due to lack of maintenance. Furthermore, a staircase was reportedly damaged and washed away by a recent storm surge.
"They're asking us to intervene and are even ready to launch a petition and collaborate, as citizens, to restore the steps," explains Borrelli. "We'll assess the situation and determine the responsibilities of the various agencies. The sea belongs to everyone, and neglect can't turn a right into a privilege. We'll demand that access be restored and made safe."
