Castel Volturno – A dramatic road accident occurred in Castel Volturno, where a violent impact near Via Domiziana, a short walk from Pinetamare, claimed the life of a young foreigner and left a fellow countryman in critical condition.
According to initial reconstructions, the two young men were riding a single electric bicycle along the road when they were struck by a car driven by an Italian man. The impact proved fatal for one of the two young men: emergency responders could only pronounce him dead on the spot.
The friend who was traveling with him was rushed to hospital, where he is currently in serious condition.
Passing motorists, witnesses to the incident, responded immediately, blocking the vehicle's path, preventing the driver from leaving the scene before law enforcement arrived. State Police officers, who promptly arrived on the scene to conduct investigations, took charge of the driver and subjected him to routine tests to determine whether he had been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The results of the toxicology tests are expected in the next few hours to determine who is responsible for the incident.
