Carabinieri officers from the Vico Equense station conducted a specific operation targeting drug dealing in a rural area. During the operation, they searched two homes and found a total of five marijuana plants.
In the first case, officers arrested a 32-year-old man already known to law enforcement. Inside his home, in a storage room, they found a bag containing seventeen doses of marijuana, a small amount of hashish, and a precision scale.
Continuing the search of the grounds surrounding the house, four marijuana plants approximately three meters tall, with a total of nineteen buds, were discovered. The man was arrested and placed under house arrest pending trial on charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Subsequently, the Carabinieri searched a second home, where they found a 33-year-old man. The search uncovered a marijuana plant approximately eighty centimeters tall, hidden in the ground in front of the balcony, with forty-seven buds. The man was charged and released.
These interventions are part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking in the Vico Equense area, highlighting the presence of illicit crops in semi-rural areas.
