Coca Cola no thirteenth, fourteenth, TFR, holidays and permits. Prata (Flai Cgil): "Incomprehensible attitude" and workers in revolt after the redundancy fund
AAlso in Marcianise, the Coca Cola HBC Italia group has activated the redundancy fund for a large part of the plant's employees, following the national lockdown and the closure of most of the catering businesses. The measure affects approximately 140 workers in addition to the employees of the commercial sector.
The unions immediately asked the company to provide an economic integration to the severance pay in addition to the accrual of all the installments provided for by the contract (i.e. thirteenth, fourteenth, severance pay, holidays and permits). "Requests largely rejected by Coca Cola which actually went so far as to fear that the possible acceptance of the workers' requests could potentially even translate into a downsizing of the workforce - Flai Cgil of Caserta said in a note - All this despite the large profits obtained in 2019 by the company, among the largest in the beverage sector in the world, and the salary increases well foreseen for the company management".
"The attitude of Coca Coca HBC Italia - says Igor Prata, general secretary of Flai Cgil of Caserta - is incomprehensible. The Flai structures and its RSU will implement all actions to oppose the company's position, starting with the mobilization for the renewal of the national contract of the food industry. We strongly ask the company to retrace its steps and recognize all the employees involved the salary integration and the full accrual of the accruals due during the period of redundancy pay".
"Coca Cola's attitude - concludes Prata - shows that rights are never consolidated, but must instead be exercised and claimed. We are certain that the company's results flaunted are also and above all due to the commitment of all workers: it cannot always be the latter who are damaged. For this reason, Flai will never stop fighting to protect the rights of workers, even more so in a period in which their commitment is fundamental for the stability of the entire country system".
