GNow in its fifth season, the Una Città Che Scrive Literary Award, which last year had the privilege of hosting the autographed manuscript of L'Infinito by Giacomo Leopardi, owned by the Municipality of VISSO, has decided to reserve a special section for the emergency linked to the corona virus.
You can participate from all over Italy, sending short stories and tales inspired by the theme "covid-19 emergency".
The email to send the texts (stories and tales in Word, max 10 pages, no later than June 3, 2020) is the following: [email protected]
"We want to ask everyone, even kids, to write stories about their quarantine. A unique opportunity to try to reconstruct the lost daily life, starting from the testimony of each of us about our life at home", these are the words of Giovanni Nappi, founder of the Una Città Che Scrive Literary Award.
Each edition has always been associated with an anthology over the years and it will be the same this time.
“We will collect the best stories and publish them in one of our anthologies,” concludes Nappi.
“Our Covid-19” will be the title of the collection of stories chosen by the contest's editorial staff and the cover image of the anthology, once again, will be drawn by Tex cartoonist Alessandro Nespolino.
10 stories will be awarded with the “in publication” prize. The stories, edited in the 2020 anthology, will be announced during a conference streamed online and on social media on a date to be defined.
The most beautiful story for the editorial staff, chosen among the 10 published, will also be awarded a “cash” prize of €300.00.
