“Whoever directs a Police Force should know well and always keep in mind that officially we think as a group: we rejoice, we suffer, we reach or fail objectives, all together, as a unit!
Any dissenting voices that are out of tune, regardless of the sacrifices of the other members of the group, should be called out but not with great fanfare, so that the alleged shortcomings of a few do not become the cross of all." This is what Giuseppe Manfredi, Head of the Local Functions Department of the Cisl Fp Naples, declared regarding the open letter signed by the Deputy Commander of the Sorrento PM on April 6.
“We only became aware of the letter on April 24, and for this we extend our heartfelt thanks to those who did not allow for a timely institutional intervention by the Cisl on the matter - continues the Unionist - It is not clear whether the letter from the deputy commander is a commendation to the PL operators for the activity carried out during the COVID19 emergency or an opportunity to publicly label as 'coward' some employee who did not carry out their duty.”
“Following this enigmatic note, the entire PL Command has paid the consequences, which is now surrounded by a climate of witch hunt, which is obscuring the excellent work done and the commitment shown by the workers to help the community in this very delicate moment”
“We wonder if this sad episode could have been avoided if there had been a permanent Commander at the Sorrento municipal police command, remembering that a mobility was canceled. And again the vice commander writes that only thanks to some non-'cowardly' employees was it possible to provide safety devices to avoid contagion. But wasn't this supposed to be done by the Sorrento administration?”
“The Cisl Fp of Naples, while waiting to receive answers from the body to which it addressed a letter of complaint of the facts, feels the duty to thank the Local Police Operators, who, every day, heroically guarantee safety and help citizens to overcome this sad pandemic period, without shying away despite the numerous risks they face, which could threaten their health and that of their families.” Manfredi concludes
