The mayor of Ercolano (Naples) Ciro Buonajuto and the president of Fai Antiracket Ercolano Pasquale Del Prete have written to the prefect of Naples, Marco Valentini, explaining that "favoring the reconstruction of the clans would be an unforgivable mistake".
And this is why they write: Among the releases that have taken place in recent days, some also concern leading members of the clans operating in our territory, already arrested and sentenced also thanks to traders and entrepreneurs who had the courage to rebel against the Camorra.
Together with the president of Fai Antiracket Ercolano, I wrote to the Prefect of Naples to ask him to do everything in his power to prevent these releases from creating the conditions for a resurgence of crimes on our territory. It is not up to us to judge the measure through which these elements were released, but encouraging the reconstitution of local gangs, after so many years of pain, work and sacrifice, would be an unforgivable sin”
