A graduate in Economics and Commerce, 53 years old, married and father of two girls, Giorgio Mondovì joined Nestlé in 1991, taking on roles of increasing responsibility in the commercial area over the years. After an experience in Nestlé Italiana as Sales Director in the Food and Beverage divisions, in 2005 he was called to cover the role of Managing Director of Nestlé Malta.
In 2010, he returned to Italy as Business Executive Manager of the Beverages Division of Nestlé Italiana with the aim of consolidating the presence of the brands on the market by promoting strong innovation and development of new products. Since 2013, he has taken on the role of International Business Unit Director of the Sanpellegrino Group, leading the development abroad and the distribution of the S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna brands in approximately 150 countries. In 2018, as Business Executive Officer Local Business Unit of the Sanpellegrino Group, he returned to dedicate himself to the Italian market with the task of continuing to enhance the product portfolio and create new commercial opportunities.
In his new role leading the food division, he will be responsible for strengthening the Buitoni, Garden Gourmet, Maggi and Thomy brands in traditional channels and enhancing growth in new segments. Giorgio will be able to count on the production excellence of the Benevento hub, recently renovated with an Industry 4.0 perspective with an investment of €50 million to develop, in addition to the Italian market, the export of frozen pizza, already distributed in 7 European countries.
His great experience, combined with his deep knowledge of the brand and the market, will provide an important contribution to the growth of brands, to the valorization of Made in Italy and to the new challenges that await the sector.
Giorgio Mondovì takes over this role from Stefano Bolognese, who will take up a new role within the Group as Head of International Business Unit Nestlé Waters Italy.
