Father Domenico dies of Coronavirus in Piacenza. Sarno mourns one of its citizens

A simple and humble missionary, Father Domenico dies of Coronavirus in Piacenza, and Sarno, his homeland that he loved so much, tearfully remembers his love for others and his profound generosity.

NFather Domenico, born Dario Lanzetta, who would have turned 17 on August 65, did not make it. He lived in Piacenza, and had tested positive for Covid19 on March 22. He had felt ill in the convent chapel while absorbed in prayer. He had lost consciousness and emergency services were immediately alerted. The Covid19 protocol was activated, and the swab had given a positive result.

At first the symptoms did not seem critical, then, during the days of Holy Week his conditions suddenly worsened so much that he needed to be transferred and admitted to intensive care with artificial ventilation. Then, the last phone calls to relatives and friends in Sarno before being intubated. Yesterday the tragic news of his passing saddened the Sarno community.
