Veronica Aquino is a “silent” artist, with a colorful soul and innate talents. Graduated from the State Art Institute of Torre Annunziata “Giorgio De Chirico”, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples where she specialized in scenography. Thanks to the fruit of her genius Veronica creates paintings and caricatures: brushes, pencils “flutter” on canvases and sheets, art and creativity give life to unique works of art. Each painting, caricature, summarizes the aspects of reality that surrounds, the humorous character that represents a person, summarized in a deliberately shrunken, mocking image. The works stand out, as in a pinanotheque open to all, on the author's social profiles (facebook and instagram). Among the many, one stands out, the caricature of Vincenzo De Luca, Governor of Campania. Last March, Italy was in lockdown, to limit the spread of covid 19, the population was forced to stay at home amidst a babel of government and regional ordinances: no going out, no partying, etc... The President hit the headlines of the national news when during a Facebook live broadcast he said: "If you throw graduation parties, I'll send the carabinieri with flamethrowers". A warning that over time became a joke, then inspiration to create party favors, up to the caricature created by Veronica. Art and talent combined to raise a smile, to amaze... Brava (Report by Natasha Macri)
