Moni Ovadia, – actor, writer, musician and singer -, in an interview with 'Il Giornale', launches a proposal for the theatre:
"It's hard to understand how everything will be able to resume at full speed. My modest proposal, at least for the theater, would be to start by staging shows performed by a few actors, examined and diagnosed as healthy, in front of a distanced audience, in safety. Each show could be performed three times a day. Complicated, I realize, but the alternative is to stay still, who knows for how long."
The pandemic has weighed and is weighing on theater actors, but for Ovadia this is particularly true in our country: “In Italy, yes. In Germany it has been declared that theaters will reopen soon. In France, artists are financially protected in cases of emergency like the one we are experiencing. I am a seventy-four-year-old artist virtually retired, but I can say, with regret, that Italy is a country that squawks about culture but then does little. Here, there are few actors considered 'demigods', perhaps coming from TV and cinema, while the others are considered members of a community, so to speak, idle”.
