“UNO”, the first and only album of unreleased songs by the historic Neapolitan band with an art-psycho-rock sound, is available in digital format – and soon in CD format – from the Tuscan label Funambulo (distributed by Audioglobe/The Orchard).
IThe historic group formed by Davide Munno (vocals and guitar), Cristiano Della Monica (percussion, drums and vocals), Davide Della Monica (guitars and vocals), Massimo D'Avanzo (picks and wind instruments) and Fabio Piras (bass), after having recorded five songs published in some compilations, and won prestigious contests (Anagrumba, Arezzo Wave, Rock Targato Italia) and played concerts up and down the country; broke up without ever publishing an album.
Like wild cannons, the band members began to collaborate with other artistic entities and participated in other artistic experiences, bringing their sound and musical attitude as a dowry.
Worth mentioning are their participations in fundamental groups for the Italian rock of the early 2000s such as PGR (i.e. the refoundation of CSI) and Ginevra Di Marco but they also traced the Italian path to folk of Balkan and Greek origin with the historic political-traveling collective Mescla. They laid the foundations for the birth of the project as Food Sound System with Donpasta but above all they collaborate, creating the music, for the shows of Circo de la Sombra, and the following productions of the company EIA, Capas and InTarsi.
UNO is an album composed of songs written by Davide Munno, who prematurely left earthly life, and arranged and produced with the brothers Cristiano and Davide Della Monica. The songs date back to the second segment of the band's history that begins in 2004 when the old speech interrupted in 1995 is resumed.
The tracks were mainly made in the studio in Casacuma, some during retreat days in San Marco di Castellabate, others in Diego Olimpo's studio in Pozzuoli and others started by Davide at his own home. All the songs were finished in the last two years by Cristiano who took care of the artistic production, together with his brother and Laura, Davide's wife, who strongly wanted and followed the entire work receiving a precious contribution from the extended family of cats; a family made up of musician friends with whom the group has shared music and life or who, in recent years, has had the pleasure of participating in the work with their own instruments and talents.
The list is long and starts with Gaetano Munno, Davide's brother, who shared the missing bass parts with Ale Innaro (EPO, 24 Grana) and Fabio Piras (present with a tribute of bass stick), Marco Di Palo with his cello, the violins of Lino Cannavacciuolo and Osvaldo Costabile; Mario Capomazza, Pino Chillemi, Massimo D'Avanzo, who enriched the work of the plectrums; Charles Ferris who sprayed trumpets and Ginevra Di Marco who gave her voice in the song that gives the album its name and with which continues a story - artistic and of brotherhood - now ten years old.
UNO, on the proposal of Ginevra and Francesco Magnelli, releases Andreino Salvadori's Funambulo under their own label and enjoys both physical and digital distribution.
All the work was wanted and followed by the extended family of cats and finally co-financed by a friendsfunding of friends, family, which allowed to invest more resources in the final stages of mixing and mastering (with sessions at Monopattino by Peppe De Angelis (already a collaborator of Vinicio Capossela, Brunori SAS, Marlene Kuntz, Negramaro, Daniele Silvestri, Verdena, Afterhours, Almamgretta, Bluvertigo ...) and at Macinarino by Lorenzo Moka Tommasini (collaborator of Hector Zazou, Gianni Maroccolo, Piero Pelu, Carmen Consoli, Ligabue, Negrita, PGR (ex-CSI), Marlene Kuntz, Jovanotti, Cristina Donà, Ginevra Di Marco, Blaine Reininger (Tuxedomoon), Andrea Chimenti, ...), and finally by Max Carola (he collaborated with Pino Daniele, Enzo Avitabile, James Senese, Enzo Gragnaniello Tullio De Piscopo, Zooming On The Zoo ...) at Maxsound studio.
