Lto senator Sandra Lonardo Mastella (Noi Di Centro) shared the appeal of the Campania Guarantor of the rights of people subjected to restrictive measures of personal freedom, Samuele Ciambriello, who invited the candidates in the next political elections to visit the prisons of the territory to see first-hand the reality of detention and the conditions in which the guests of the facilities live. Ciambriello also denounced the absence of the prison issue from the electoral programs of the various factions.
"I share and support Ciambriello's invitation because there should be no classifications of any kind within a community. Behind bars there are people who have made mistakes and are paying their debt to society, but this does not mean they can be considered second-class citizens or even outcasts who cannot even be guaranteed the minimum levels of assistance".
Lonardo Mastella recently visited the Benevento Capodimonte prison, where she was able to see first-hand the conditions in which the inmates live, who are not guaranteed continuity of care due to the lack of a 24-hour doctor, not to mention the absence of a permanent psychiatrist to the detriment of therapeutic continuity and the difficulties in obtaining class C drugs.
"It would be appropriate for all my colleagues and competitors to take the issue to heart, because you can't base an electoral campaign only on certain issues while ignoring the thorniest ones. There are no differences between human beings and that's why everyone should be helped without distinction: I'm waiting to meet the general director of the ASL (of Benevento, ed.) Gennaro Volpe for a calm discussion that will allow me to better understand what's not working"
