Per lungo tempo sembra non accadere nulla e poi all’improvviso tutto cambia.
So, from 15 to 23 October, the Biennale MArteLive, the largest multidisciplinary festival in Europe with over 1500 artists from all over the continent, will be taking place for 9 days and in over 100 locations (live clubs, theatres, galleries, squares, walls, archaeological parks, villas) in Rome and Lazio, with multiple artistic expressions, ranging from music to theatre, from dance to street art, from digital illustration to sculpture, from fashion to video clips.
A real quantum leap.
If the Icelandic Mùm, an icon of European electronic indie, have been the forerunners of the previews of the Biennale MArte Live, together with the sold out of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, this evening, Monday 10 October, it will be the turn of another excellent preview: at the Spazio Rossellini – Multidisciplinary Cultural Center of the Lazio Region – in fact, Davide Enia, accompanied by the notes of Giulio Barocchieri, will bring to the stage the award-winning show L'abisso, which deals with the tragedy of the landings in the Mediterranean.
From October 15 to 23, the multidisciplinary nature of MArteLive will instead spread at a regional level through 13 special projects/festivals within the general program of the Biennale; a galaxy of off events divided by genre and artistic discipline, organized in collaboration with numerous institutions and associations of Lazio, will in fact be hosted in about 100 locations throughout the territory. The central nucleus of the festival, MArteLive Lo Spettacolo Totale, will instead take place from October 18 to 20 at the Qube in Rome; while, among the final post-Biennale events, October 26 will be the turn of one of the only two Italian dates of The Afghan Whigs (with special guest Ed Harcourt), the amazing American alternative band that invented soul-grunge.
The MArteLive Biennale is a project conceived and curated by Giuseppe Casa, in collaboration with the various project managers and the various external organizations involved.
Below are the events for the week of October 10-18 of the MArteLive Biennale, divided by special project they belong to.
