DRubbish, garbage, and landfills outside the elementary school in the Spanish Quarter. Mothers are angry: "It's been going on like this for years, and our children have to avoid trash, excrement, and scooters."
The little pupils of the “Paisiello” elementary and nursery school in via Montecalvario, Quartieri Spagnoli, have to slalom between the rubbish and bulky items that are left in the street every day.
Several mothers have turned to the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli to report a situation that has now become unsustainable and that continues to reoccur with regularity:
“When leaving and entering school our children must avoid waste, excrement, cars and scooters. It has been like this for years. We fight but the institutions are absent.”
“We asked Asia to intervene urgently.” -declares Borrelli- "But then we will have to give a meaning to the remediation, we will have to give continuity to the decorum and the restored safety. We have been asking for a long time for the installation of cameras because it is absolutely necessary to create a deterrent for the uncivilized people who absurdly dump waste and furnishings in the street.
We have already intervened several times on the situation in this area where, especially in the evening, episodes of violence, anarchy and degradation occur. More and constant controls are needed.”
