Castaldo has dedicated his intense concert career both to the great repertoire and to the rediscovery of unpublished works from all eras: in particular with the “GM Trabaci” Association founded by him, he has brought to light the precious writing of the most ancient Neapolitan organ tradition and the organ heritage related to it. He is the author of the book “Il giardino dei silenziosi – Iuppiter Edizioni 2012” dedicated to the organs of the churches of Naples, preface by Mons. The season in its various articulations and moments will be enriched by moments of presentation of unpublished discographic and editorial publications on the instrumental music of the 600th and 700th centuries Neapolitan and Italian, in addition to initiatives aimed at making the Neapolitan musical heritage known to the very young.
The review is curated by AREA ARTE Associazione culturale Mediterranea, which for years has conducted in-depth studies and research on Neapolitan music of the 600th and 700th centuries and promotes its dissemination and enhancement. Sala” Conservatory of Benevento, space will be given to recoveries of scores from eighteenth-century Naples, to the presentation of recording projects and seminars relating to the Neapolitan Music School, continuing at the same time to enhance works of the contemporary repertoire with particular attention to composers from Campania, and to the patronage of the new generations of talented instrumentalists. The series La Voce dell'Organo sees the artistic consultancy of Maestro Mauro Castaldo. The coordination is curated by Laura Francesca Mastrominico
