On the second anniversary of the killing of the Italian ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo , Luca Attanasio , “The hidden truths of the Attanasio crime” , an investigation by Antonella Napoli, journalist and writer, director of the magazine “Focus on Africa”, has been in bookstores since last Friday.
The book reconstructs all the phases of the ambush and reveals mysteries and facts that have been left in the shadows until now. Antonella Napoli will present "The hidden truths of the Attanasio crime" in Lombardy with three appointments: Wednesday 22 February she will be in Limbiate (MB), at 12.00:52, for the book signing at the Mondadori bookshop (via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 23) and Thursday 11.30 February in Milan, at 36:18.30 at the TeleNova headquarters (via Guglielmo Silvia, 5) and at XNUMX:XNUMX, in the space "The Will" (via Cappuccio, XNUMX), where she will talk with the lawyer and Africa expert Roberto Cociancich.
In addition to having acquired all the documents of the judicial investigation of the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Rome, Antonella Napoli, who knew Attanasio well, collected testimonies on site by spending a long period in Congo (where she then returned on 31 January with Pope Francis, as journalist accredited to the Pontiff's apostolic trip to Congo and South Sudan).
One thing is certain: on February 22, 2021, the Italian ambassador Luca Attanasio, the carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci and the driver Mustapha Milambo were murdered. There are carefully studied and approved security plans: today it is possible to calculate the risk of dangers of a mission, and therefore, if necessary, avoid it. This did not happen for the World Food Programme operation of February 22, 2021.
This book analyzes why not enough was done to avoid such a bloody event. "The hidden truths of the Attanasio crime" is a journey back in time on the trail of real events, faced with stubbornness by the author who knew Ambassador Attanasio and this gave her more strength to get to work, asking for justice, going all the way in the search for the truth, also with a campaign launched by the magazine she directs, Focus on Africa, #veritaperlucavittorioemustapha.
