"The city of Salerno has been under siege for some time, held hostage by delinquents, vagrants, ready to do anything even for a few pennies. The attack on the 17-year-old student, which also took place in a central location, is confirmation of what we have been denouncing for months about the lack of controls.
Every day, hundreds and hundreds of students flock to the capital from every corner of the province, so try to imagine the state of mind with which a parent must send a child to school”.
Thus the MEP from Salerno and vice regional coordinator of Forza Italia, Isabella Adinolfi, intervenes on the latest episode of violence that occurred in Piazza Malta against a 17-year-old student from Pontecagnano who was injured by a Roma thief while trying to steal her phone.
“It is unthinkable that in a provincial capital there are no video surveillance cameras and the few that are present are often not even working. – continues the MEP from Salerno – There are protocols, there are projects, there is funding, but interventions are needed.
To this we must add a greater presence of the police in the squares, in front of schools and at bus stops. Sometimes, even a simple presence can be a deterrent for a criminal”.
