The fifth man of the gang discovered in Naples who defrauded the elderly with the fake nephew technique was also captured.
According to the investigators' reconstruction, the organization was headed by a 27-year-old who would have used four collaborators to plan the scams. A total of 14 people are under investigation, all with different roles.
The operations centre was identified by the Carabinieri in Via Duomo, the historic centre of Napoli, at the 27-year-old's home.
He was the one who managed the telephone lines from which the fake nephew's scams and the fake courier's meeting were launched. Alongside him, at least four people would have organized the entire group, recovering money and means of transport, coordinating the other suspects.

From Naples, the group allegedly organized trips to defraud elderly people from Gaeta (Latina) to Castellabate (Salerno), passing through Caserta, Acerra, Volla, Torre del Greco and Castellammare di Stabia, up to Piano di Sorrento and Sorrento.
