It had already happened with the Eintracht Frankfurt ultras. On the eve of the Champions League match between Napoli and Union Berlin, the German fans traveling to the Campania capital set the city streets ablaze.
Between Via Toledo and Piazza Dante they attacked riot police, vandalized some shops, and threw smoke bombs and firecrackers.
"We have asked the Minister of the Interior and the Prefect for information on the events of the night. What happened is truly unacceptable, considering that it is the second time that German ultras have been allowed to set our city on fire and sword," said the deputy of the Green-Left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
"These violent people should be expelled from the city and sent back home and should also be condemned to pay for the damages they have caused with their urban guerrilla warfare. It seems clear that the prevention and security measures should be reviewed when these games take place given that these episodes are recorded frequently."
