Mour “Homage to Domenico Morelli: contemporary encounters two hundred years after his birth” in Naples.
On January 26, in the Conference Hall of the Royal Palace of Naples, the catalogue of the exhibition “Homage to Domenico Morelli: contemporary encounters two hundred years after his birth” curated by Fausto Minervini and Selene Salvi and inaugurated on December 14 in the Royal Chapel will be presented.
The exhibition, which will last until February 13, includes works by nine contemporary figurative painters created specifically for the occasion and compared with the famous canvas executed by Domenico Morelli in 1870.
This comparison created between Ancient and Modern promises to offer a unique and fascinating perspective. In conjunction with the presentation of the catalog, a day of studies has been organized on the themes related to the Contemporary and Domenico Morelli. The interventions, scheduled in three sections starting at 10:00, will see the participation of scholars and representatives of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples and the universities of Roma Tre, Tuscia and Uninettuno.
The topics covered will range from the problems and current events of the Contemporary, to the figure of Domenico Morelli, up to a focus on the restoration of the Assumption of the Royal Palace.
The event is open to the public and will be streamed on the Palazzo Reale YouTube channel (@palazzorealenapoli). Don't miss the opportunity to participate in this interesting initiative that celebrates art and culture in the evocative setting of the Royal Palace of Naples.
