Nicola Oddati 'fired' by the Campania Region. Following the arrest made today in the context of the investigation into connections between politicians and entrepreneurs in relation to some contracts connected to the relaunch of the Rione Terra of Pozzuoli, the Campania Region has decided to proceed with the decree of revocation of the position held until today by Nicholas Oddati.

Until this morning, the person under investigation was the director of the Institutional Representation Office of the Campania Regional Council and relations with the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.
As part of this function, he is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the Rome office of the Campania Region.
Dolphin of Anthony Bassolino, in whose municipal council in the nineties he held the role of assessor, Oddati then distanced himself from the 'mentor' becoming an important figure in the entourage of the former national secretary of the Democratic Party Nicola Zingaretti.
In 2011 he was at the centre of one of the most complicated pages in the history of the Neapolitan Democratic Party: he ran in the primaries for mayor of Naples and contested the result of the favourite Umberto Ranieri.
This gave rise to controversy and accusations of fraud which invalidated the result and pushed the then PD leader Pierluigi Bersani to appoint a commissioner (Andrea Orlando), while he imposed himself as a candidate for mayor Mario Morcone who went out in the first round.
The political history of Nicola Oddati
Oddati was then also at the centre of a long tug of war over the secretariat of the Neapolitan Democratic Party: he presented an appeal together with others against the 2017 provincial congress which had crowned Max Coast; Oddati was among the candidates with the implicit support of the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca.
In 2019, the seventh section of the Civil Court accepted the appeal and annulled the vote. In the meantime, at the national level, he made his way, thanks to his connection with Zingaretti, entering the national management of the Democratic Party. Enrico Letta he appointed him as the head of the Democratic Agoras. Nicola Oddati then had to leave his positions in the Democratic Party when in April last year the investigation that has now led to his imprisonment revealed its first sensitive news.
