UA one-month-old baby was taken to prison in Turin along with his mother, a young Romanian. The situation was discovered by the Avs deputy, Marco Grimaldi, who requested the intervention of the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio. The baby's mother is scared and has not yet had access to a lawyer.
The news has raised concerns and calls for action from politicians, as the newborn is awaiting a judge's decision on his fate and that of his mother. The situation raises questions about the conditions in which the child is being held and the justice of his continued imprisonment.
The case has raised controversy and indignation due to the sensitivity of the case and the fact that the newborn is in prison, without adequate protection and assistance. The request for intervention by the Minister of Justice was made in order to guarantee respect for the rights of the mother and the child, as well as to find an urgent solution to the situation.
Yesterday, the head of justice for the Democratic Party, Debora Serracchiani, also intervened on the matter.
"Minister Nordio should say if the news that a one-month-old baby is in prison with his mother is true. I truly hope that is not the case. Otherwise, I ask the minister to intervene immediately so that the mother and the baby are released from prison."
