The celebration of Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony at the Museo Campano in Capua
IThe Museo Campano in Capua will host the second event of the project “The Queen and the Architect”, dedicated to the tricentenary of the birth of Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony. The event, entitled “The pearls … of Maria Amalia – The Bourbon jewelry of the 700th century”, will be held on Friday 17 May 2024 at 17:30 pm in the Liani room of the Museum.

During the evening, the Bourbon jewels of the 700th century will be presented, including the pearl necklace and earrings of Queen Maria Amalia, masterfully reproduced by Generoso De Sieno, official supplier of the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies. In addition, it will be possible to admire an exhibition of contemporary art curated by Claudia Mazzitelli and the presentation of the volume “The Queen and the Architect” by Giuseppe De Nitto.
Program of the event
The initiative will begin with a dance performance dedicated to Maria Amalia of Saxony, performed by the Arabesque Dance Company. This will be followed by expert interventions on 700th-century Bourbon jewelry and the presentation of the tiara created for Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon Two Sicilies. The event will be moderated by journalist Luigi Di Monaco and will see the participation of the director of the Museo Provinciale Campano of Capua, Giovanni Solino, and the councilor for culture of the Municipality of Capua, Vincenzo Corcione. The evening will conclude with the choreography “Quadri di Vita di Corte” by the Arabesque company.
