Ggreat joy for Ilenia Bevilacqua 35 years old, and for her husband Massimo Botti, of Ogliastro Cilento for the birth of little Leonardo.
Ilenia had previously had six miscarriages, the last of which was particularly painful because it occurred in the fifth month of pregnancy.
Subsequently she turned to Dr. Raffaele Petta where, from diagnostic investigations, a thrombophilic diathesis was found (a hypercoagulability of the blood); furthermore, following a hysteroscopy, an abnormal gap in the cervical canal with incontinence of the same was found.
Already at the beginning of her pregnancy, Dr. Petta prescribed anticoagulant therapy and at 13 weeks she was admitted to the Obstetrics Department of the Malzoni Clinic, directed by Dr. Annamaria Malzoni and underwent a delicate cervical cerclage procedure according to the Shirodkar technique which consists of applying, after adequate preparation, a non-absorbable band to prevent the cervix from dilating.
At 36 weeks the cervical cerclage was removed and subsequently at 38,2 weeks she was admitted to the Malzoni Clinic in Avellino for labor.
On May 16th at 16,51:XNUMX pm Leonardo was born with a spontaneous birth under analgesia, assisted by Dr. Bove Ferrigno Vincenzo with the midwife Pepe Anna.
The baby weighed 3,140 kg and was 52 cm long at birth; he is currently in a crib, breathing independently and is hospitalized in the Neonatology Department directed by Dr. Angelo Izzo.
