Pozzuoli. Following the seismic swarm that hit the Campi Flegrei this evening, some precautionary measures have been put in place to protect the population.
In via Artiaco, in Pozzuoli, two buildings with 6 and 9 homes respectively were evacuated as a precaution.
At the moment there are no reports of injured people and we are awaiting the results of the fire brigade's checks on the buildings in the area.
In the municipality of Naples at the moment there are no damages to essential services. In Bacoli instead interventions were made to secure a gas pipeline.
In Pozzuoli four first aid areas for the night
Four areas for the reception of citizens, with basic comfort items and psychologists to assist the population - after the repeated tremors of the evening - are being set up in Pozzuoli in view of the night.
The mayor of Pozzuoli Luigi Manzoni announced it on Facebook. The areas are located at Palatrincone, Parking C9 in via Vecchia delle Vigne, In square by the sea; to the Palazzine wide.
“We are all worried – explains the mayor – but at work with great attention and commitment. It is a special moment for our community. We must remain united and compact. Together we can do a lot to get out of this”.
Monitoring and coordination
The prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has convened the Rescue Coordination Center which, in close contact with the Department of Civil Protection, the Campania Region and the municipalities in the red zone, is monitoring the evolution of the seismic situation and coordinating the necessary safety operations for the population and buildings.
