LNotte della Taranta lands in the sustainable urban renaissance in Rome, Milan and Naples with Urban Vision and Pugliapromozione, the Tourism Agency of the Region Puglia, and it is great news for this event of great popular as well as artistic appeal. A video with the hypnotic images of the Concertone di Melpignano scheduled for Saturday 24 August will in fact be broadcast on digital giant screens in the streets of the three large Italian cities promoting the “Pugliese popular culture”.
Starting today and until the appointment on August 24th in Melpignano, where at least 200 thousand people are expected (free admission), on the notes of the refrain of “Ri Lo La La”, the Concertone sequences enter – news in the Urban Vision program thanks to the collaboration with Pugliapromozione. Objective: to focus on urban communication through the development of shared innovative projects, creating engaging experiences, designed to bring value to communities and make urban passage more dynamic.
An explicit invitation to encourage people to come to Puglia to participate in the largest collective rite of popular music in Europe. Urban Vision is the company at the forefront of urban innovation, with the ambition of transforming cities into vibrant theaters of participation and creativity.
It is a company expert in cutting-edge urban entertainment content, capitalizing on the use of 2D, 3D and so-called 'augmented reality' (AR) technologies. For Michele Emiliano, president of the Puglia Region, "Pugliapromozione and Urban Vision bring the rhythm and atmosphere of the Taranta to three large Italian squares.
This project aims to make our popular music known beyond the borders of the region and it is also our way of inviting everyone, citizens and tourists, to come to Melpignano on August 24th to the final Concertone. We are certain that many will be 'pinched' by the Notte della Taranta, an authentic expression of our culture and our history".
In turn Massimo Bray, new president of the Fondazione La Notte della Taranta, underlines that “we facilitate a dialogue between cities and people by projecting beauty. Always in motion, as music does in a contamination of languages between history, tradition and innovation, to intercept a dynamic audience.
An important first step towards an increasingly inclusive Taranta”. Gianluca De Marchi, CEO of Urban Vision, firmly believes in promoting sustainability and cultural value through communication: “The principles that have always characterized our relationship with the city are to create value for the community in terms of public utility, innovation, through technologically advanced solutions, totally integrated with the urban fabric”.
For Viviana Matrangola, Apulia's regional councilor for Culture, "it is suggestive to imagine that the sounds, colors and stories of Apulian folk dances, with their ancestral nature, can meet thousands of people thanks to digital communication, merging with the practices and lifestyles of three large urban centers. Pizzica meets the world in Naples, Rome and Milan: it is a message of promotion of our identity, but also of cultural contamination that will favor the inspiration for new stories and cultural productions".
Gianfranco Lopane, Puglia's regional councilor for tourism, highlights that this way: we bring the magic of the Notte della Taranta to the heart of Naples, Milan and Rome. Thanks to this initiative, the hypnotic images of the Concertone di Melpignano will animate the streets of the great Italian cities, creating a virtual bridge between the Puglia tradition and urban contexts.
The use of technologies will allow us to share an engaging experience, enhancing our cultural roots and making the cities real theaters of participation and tourist promotion. All, as always, to the rhythm of pizzica.
In this way, we further substantiate the support of the Puglia Region to one of the most important events in Puglia, inviting everyone to discover the wonders of our splendid destination”.
