Arzano. Assault on the Europea Pharmacy (pictured): the crime and theft emergency returns after an apparent period of calm. Yet another burglary.
In the early hours of this morning, unknown individuals armed with burglary tools tore down one of the entrance shutters of the pharmacy on Via Luigi Rocco, stealing, according to reports, money from the register.
A script already seen that of the thefts that were committed to the detriment of as many pharmacies including the Finale in via Silone “visited” for the second time just a few weeks ago.
The Carabinieri have therefore acquired the images from the surveillance cameras of the nearby shops and the pharmacy, hoping that they may contain useful elements to establish the dynamics and identify the perpetrators as far as possible.
The amount of the loot is unknown, but although not significant, it has caused a lot of damage. The modus operandi is always the same: the thieves act at night, hook the shutter with a chain and then drag it away with the car or, even worse, with burglary tools.
Often the break-in happens in two stages: first they force the pharmacy to set off the alarm, then when the siren goes off they return and proceed with the break-in.
Exasperated citizens and merchants ask for security despite the reassurances of the Prefect at the end of numerous press conferences. A dramatic situation in almost the entire province of Naples despite the initial encouragement regarding the validity of the crime alarm.
Citizens and traders of Arzano exasperated by the continuous thefts
Almost as soon as a theft is reported, another similar one arrives.
The traders, who have already had their problems in overcoming a long dark period, between the pandemic emergency and the economic crisis, have found the strength and courage to get back up but they risk ending up definitively knocked out by gangs of criminals who are literally taking away the sleep of those who have a commercial activity, be it a supermarket, rather than a betting shop, a pharmacy, a barber, a beauty center and so on. Not to mention car thefts.
