Ion stage the most brilliant voices of Neapolitan theater and literature: Salvatore Di Giacomo, Enzo Moscato and Annibale Ruccello. The opportunity arrives with the two one-act plays included in the events of the second edition of Pianura Opera House scheduled for Sunday 8 September 2024 starting at 20:30 pm in the amphitheater of the Attianese park in Pianura, Naples, with free admission. The two shows, curated by the Teatro Stabile delle Arti Medioevali, are part of the program of the third edition of "Affabulazione. Espressioni della Napoli policentrica", a review of the Municipality of Naples financed by the National Fund for Entertainment of the Directorate General Entertainment of the Ministry of Culture.
To orchestrate the Neapolitan voices
Orchestrating these voices, with two of his theatrical pieces, one of which is being performed for the first time ever, will be Gian Maria Cervo, a Neapolitan playwright welcomed by audiences all over the world, and Flavio Albanese, a multifaceted acting and directing talent, expert and connoisseur of the commedia dell'arte, a former student of Giorgio Strehler.
The rediscovery of the commedia dell'arte
“La magia dell'uovo” and “La magia dell'uovo 2 – I Dioscuri” bring back the work of Salvatore Di Giacomo and pay homage to Annibale Ruccello and Enzo Moscato. With them, figures linked to the commedia dell'arte and the Neapolitan magical culture that are now so hidden and remote as to be mysterious, such as Francesco Berni and Luigi Settembrini, also resurface. If the first of the two one-act plays is presented as a piece of bravura brought to the stage by Luca Iervolino, a comedian and postmodern lazarus, the second is a contemporary sketch performed by two young Neapolitan actors, Antonio Ciorfito and Rino Rivetti, whose commitments range between theater and cinema and who have worked in the most advanced contexts of today's Neapolitan comedy.
Event details
The shows, which will be followed by a light aperitif, are scheduled for 20:30 pm and 21:30 pm respectively. Participation is free until all seats are taken by booking via email [email protected].
