Lecce Napoli, Gotti: “Difficult period, we will need solidity to overcome it”

Lecce Napoli Gotti – After a dark week and a series of four consecutive defeats between the championship and the Italian Cup, Luca Gotti's Lecce is preparing to take the field against league leaders Napoli with the aim of avoiding another defeat. On the eve of the match, Gotti acknowledges the difficult moment: "It's a negative period, the only way out is to demonstrate the facts, to transform words into concreteness. The season is long and, to save ourselves, we need solidity".

The Neapolitan trip arrives for the Lecce in a complicated moment, with numerous injuries and absences that will influence the choices of the coach, who is also looking at the important midweek salvation challenge against Verona: “The decisions will also take into account that commitment – explains Gotti –, especially for those who are not in top form. We cannot afford risks".

Among the significant absences, that of Gallo due to suspension and the uncertain conditions of Guilber, in differentiated training. “I don’t know yet who between Jean and Pelmard will play on the right, we could evaluate both options. The pitch will give us the answers on who is ready to handle the 90 minutes”, the coach comments. As for Banda, Gotti says he has observed progress in his recovery: “He is fine, but I don’t want to overload him, also considering the crucial match against Verona. His path is positive and he is moving towards full recovery”.
