On the night between March 20 and 21, a daring attack shocked the Secondigliano neighborhood in Naples. A commando of four individuals, armed and with their faces covered, targeted a tobacconist's located in Corso Secondigliano, carrying out a rapid and violent action.
Around 3:30, the criminals, having got out of a car, first inspected the area and then cut the padlocks of the shutter with a flex, breaking it to access the premises.
The group's operations were captured by surveillance cameras, whose footage was immediately handed over to the authorities. The footage was also sent to the deputy of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who shared the frustration and indignation of the tobacconist's owner.
The tobacconist's owner's outburst: "So many sacrifices lost in a few minutes"
The owner himself, through a direct message to Borrelli, expressed his dismay: "So many sacrifices, waking up at 6 in the morning and endless days, stress, the responsibility I have towards my collaborators. And then we find ourselves at 3:30 in the morning woken up by a phone call, having lost so much money in the blink of an eye. Then they say that entrepreneurs run away".
Law enforcement is now working to identify and capture the members of the criminal group, whose images have been released to speed up the investigation. In the meantime, the episode has put the spotlight back on the issue of safety in the neighborhood and the difficulties faced by small business owners, forced to deal with a climate of growing insecurity.
The hunt for the four robbers is on, while the Secondigliano community is wondering how to combat a phenomenon that seems to know no respite.
“Crime is now out of control in the city and the province. The violence with which this robbery was carried out is impressive. Four criminals armed with guns who do not care in the least about what could have happened, use a flex in the middle of the night, break through a shutter and carry out a robbery without anyone daring to stop them.
Making a hellish noise and, despite the late hour, with several cars still in circulation. I appeal to anyone who has useful information to identify these dangerous criminals to provide them even anonymously. We must bring these individuals to justice who will surely carry out other robberies if they are not stopped first”. These are the words of Borrelli.

It is truly worrying that such violent episodes happen in neighborhoods like Secondigliano. The authorities should do more to protect business owners and ensure the safety of citizens who live in these areas.
