Arzano – A serious act of vandalism struck the Via Salvemini complex of the “Karol Wojtyla” Comprehensive Institute during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. Unknown individuals entered the building, devastating the offices of the president, the secretary's office and some classrooms.
At this time, there have been no thefts, but school staff are conducting an inventory to verify any shortages.
The reaction of the police was immediate: the municipal police, coordinated by the commander Biagio Chiariello, and the carabinieri of the local station have started investigations to identify those responsible. Among the hypotheses being examined, the gesture could be linked to students dissatisfied with their school grades or to an act of pure bravado.
The mayor of Arzano, Cinzia Aruta, firmly condemned the episode: "This attack on the school is a wound for the entire community. We will respond with determination, protecting a place that is fundamental for the growth of our young people." Investigations are continuing at a rapid pace to shed light on an act that has shaken the town.
“Hitting a school means hitting the heart of our city, the place where the future of Arzano grows. It is a vile gesture, which hurts the entire community. The school is a common good and as such must be protected, always.
Together with the Councilor for Education Chiara Guida, we wanted to express our full solidarity with the school principal, Professor Maria Raspaolo, the teachers, the staff, the students and the families. We are and will be at the side of the school, with determination and care”, concluded the mayor.
