In the heart of Naples, a few steps from Piazza Municipio, the municipal police have sealed off an apartment illegally transformed into a hospitality facility. The property, originally intended for office use, had been modified without any building permit to accommodate a bed and breakfast business, by dividing it into three separate units.
The seizure was triggered in the context of control operations launched on the city's accommodation facilities, with the aim of countering the proliferation of illegal activities in the tourism sector and protecting urban legality. The agents found a violation of the Consolidated Building Act, which regulates the transformation of buildings and requires compliance with specific authorization procedures.
An intervention that highlights, once again, the attention of the police towards a growing phenomenon: the wild conversion of commercial spaces into mini apartments for tourist use, often in the absence of any authorization and to the detriment of rules and safety.

It seems to me that the issue of accommodation facilities in Naples is very complicated and there are many people who do not respect the rules. It is important that the police carry out checks to maintain order, but they must also be more informed about these situations.
