Fate has chosen a hard line for the two former Napoli players now in the Cagliari jersey: on the night that could gift the Scudetto to the Azzurri, neither Gianluca Gaetano nor Elia Caprile will be in the game. The attacking midfielder born in 2000, one of the most anticipated profiles at the Maradona, has in fact undergone arthroscopic surgery for the lesion to the lateral meniscus of his left knee.
The operation, conducted by Professor Pier Paolo Mariani at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome, was a complete success, but his return to the field will not take place before July, after the necessary physiotherapy cycle. Caprile, who went on loan from Napoli to Cagliari last January, will instead have to stay out of action due to the after-effects of a discomfort he suffered in Sunday's match. For him, four appearances with Conte's Azzurri between September and October, but the great challenge as a former player will vanish at the most beautiful moment.
In his place, between the posts, there will be Sherri. And the worries do not end here for Nicola: Luvumbo is also on the list of unavailable players, while Zortea and Pavoletti remain in doubt. On the left lane, to fill the Angolan's absence, the coach could rely on Felici or try the Kingstone card.

Gaetano's operation seems to have gone well, but it's a shame that he can't play before July. Caprile is also unavailable and this creates problems for Cagliari. Let's hope they return soon.
