The military of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Naples have executed a provision of the Court of Appeal of Naples - Criminal Section which orders special public safety surveillance and the seizure aimed at confiscating assets with a value exceeding 1 million euros.
The accusation: fraudulent accounting for the Puca clan
The investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples, have ascertained that the professional would have provided technical-accounting support to various companies linked to the Puca clan, contributing to:
Masking financial irregularities;
To ensure an appearance of legality to the illegal activities of the Camorra gang;
Prepare fraudulent balance sheets with altered financial values;
Using invoices for non-existent transactions;
Manage fictitious transfers of company shares.
A lifestyle incompatible with declared income
The analyses of the Accounting and Operational Investigations Group (GICO) of the Guardia di Finanza have highlighted a marked disproportion between the declared income (in some years even zero) and the standard of living maintained by the professional and his family. In particular:
Six luxury properties in Sant'Antimo, for a total value of over 1 million euros;
Investments and expenses not justifiable with the modest declared income.
The measure: seizure and special surveillance
In application of the Anti-Mafia Code, the Court has ordered:
Special public safety surveillance for the professional;
Seizure of the properties, entrusted to a judicial administrator;
Final confiscation expected following judicial process.
A proven system of support for the Camorra
"Even after his release from prison, the professional continued to operate within the sphere of influence of the Puca clan," the investigators explain. The preventive measure was adopted precisely because of the judgment of social dangerousness that emerged from the investigations.
