The two individuals who managed the illegal activities were those who practiced dentistry without having any qualification, putting the health of patients at serious risk.
Complex investigations and disastrous hygienic-sanitary conditions
The investigations, conducted by the Guardia di Finanza Company of Mondragone under the aegis of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere (the "Procura Sammaritana"), were complex. They included documentary analysis, stakeouts, collection of testimonies and searches, which allowed the identification of the two operational centers of the so-called dentists.
It emerged that the two, despite not having a master's degree in Medicine and Surgery and not being registered with the Medical Association, regularly performed dental treatments.
Not only the lack of adequate qualifications, but also the poor hygienic-sanitary conditions in which the services were carried out represented a serious danger. The regulations on the disposal of hazardous waste at risk of infection and chemicals were completely disregarded.
Seizure and tax recovery: a totally black business
The evidentiary seizure concerned the two illegal offices, all the related equipment, medical instruments and drugs present, with the aim of preventing the immediate continuation of the illicit activities and protecting patients from any harm caused by unqualified operators.
The operation also allowed us to find copious documentation, which will be essential to reconstruct the turnover of the two illegal studios. These were totally unknown to the tax authorities, without VAT numbers, and the illegally accumulated income will now be subject to tax recovery.
The intervention of the Guardia di Finanza, coordinated by the Judicial Authority, demonstrates the constant commitment to protecting citizens' health and ensuring fair and equitable competition in the market.
