Portici – An episode of juvenile deviance shakes Portici, where a boy of just 15 years old was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of mistreatment in the family and illegal possession of a bladed weapon.
The young man, armed with an axe, spread panic in his home, attacking his parents and destroying part of the house.
It all started when the father, a 50-year-old worried about his son's suspected drug abuse, had the boy's urine tested, which came back positive for opiates. When his parent scolded him, the 15-year-old reacted with unheard-of violence: he grabbed an axe from the gardening area, damaging the exterior walls of the house and shattering the glass of the grates.
Not satisfied, he threatened to kill his father, who barricaded himself in the house, and continued his destructive fury by punching other windows. His mother, in an attempt to calm him down, was in turn attacked. The young man then escaped by climbing over the fence.
Alerted by 112, the Carabinieri intervened quickly, seizing the axe and tracking down the 15-year-old in via IV Novembre, near the Portici/Bellavista Circumvesuviana station.

The boy, described as hostile and arrogant even towards the police, was arrested and transferred to the first reception center in Naples Colli Aminei. Now he will have to answer to serious charges, while the authorities investigate a case that highlights the drama of youth deviance and addictions.
