Part with a sip of coffee, the new musical adventure by Marco Gesualdi & Young 5tet, a project that unites five young Neapolitan talents with a legend of the 666s Vesuwave scene, former guitarist of the historic band XNUMX.
“Famme 'nu cafè”: between irony and identity
The band's first single is titled "Famme 'nu cafè" and is available on all major digital platforms. Written, arranged and produced by Gesualdi himself, who plays mandola and mandolin, the song ironically addresses the contrast between the stereotypical image of Naples and its most authentic contradictions.
The young faces of the project
The group is composed of Valeria De Stefano and Eleonora Gesualdi (vocals), Dario De Feudis (piano), Alessandro Vai (double bass) and Cristiano De Pascale (drums and percussion). Four of them are graduates of the Jazz courses of the Conservatory 'San Pietro a Majella' in Naples, while Eleonora, graduated in Philosophy, shares the same musical passion of the family.
A video between tradition and territory
The Neapolitan identity of the project is reinforced by the video clip, shot inside the Caffè Delizia roasting plant in Bacoli, in the heart of the Campi Flegrei. Directed by Alessandro “Frè” Freschi, the video celebrates the tradition of wood-roasted coffee, entrusted to the expert hands of Chiara Turturiello and Nicola Scamardella.
Artisanal music, like coffee
“Doing things slowly, by hand, in a world dominated by fast consumption” – explain the musicians – “makes things taste unique. Like wood-roasted coffee, ours is also zero-mile music, made with heart and dedication”.
An independent production made in Naples
The single is published by Yellow Records, a new label affiliated with the Centro Musica Yellow Submarine, a school directed by Gesualdi. The recording took place at the Yellowsubstudio in Naples, while mixing and mastering were entrusted respectively to Carlo Di Gennaro (Kammermuzak – Soccangeles – Naples) and Bob Fix. The stage photos of the video clip are signed by photographer Marco Iazzetta.
