Dall'Archeologia funeraria al cinema” the cultural event that will be held in Pozzuoli, at the late ancient paleochristian necropolis of San Vito, Thursday 5 June at 10 am. The event combines archaeology, food and wine culture and cinema, offering a multisensory and reflective experience on the theme of the ancient cities of the dead.
An Idea for Enhancement of the Territory
The initiative was conceived by architect Anna Russolillo, consultant of the Archaeological Park of Himera Solunto and Iato. The program includes a guided tour of the necropolis and a tasting of “cuonzolo”, a typical bread of the Campi Flegrei, a symbol of local tradition and memory.
Authorities and Personalities Present
Numerous personalities from the institutional and cultural world will participate in the inaugural ceremony, including:
- Luigi Manzoni, Mayor of Pozzuoli
- Raffaella De Vivo, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Quarto
- Michele Assante Del Leccese, screenwriter and councilor for culture of the Municipality of Procida
- Federica Russolillo, president of Lunaria A2 Onlus and head of the Necropolis Educational Service
- Raffaella Iovine, President of the Archaeological Group of the Phlegraean Fields
- Gennaro Maione, journalist specialized in cinema
- Gea Palumbo, President of the Academy of Campi Flegrei
- Vincenzo Cirillo, Councilor of the Metropolitan City of Naples
The meeting will be moderated by journalist Gianni Ambrosino.
Young People as Heritage Guides
Starting at 11 am, guided tours will begin, led by students of class 3B of the ISIS Montalcini Institute of Quarto, coordinated by archaeologist Raffaella Iovine and architect Anna Russolillo. An opportunity to enhance the role of new generations in the protection and promotion of cultural heritage.

The event on Thursday looks very interesting, but there are a few things that are unclear. The cuonzolo tasting makes me hungry, but where can I find the precise information? I hope there are signs for parking.
