UAn earthquake of magnitude 2.0 was felt this morning, at 9:13, in the Campi Flegrei area and in the western districts of Naples.
The earthquake, located at a depth of just 2 kilometers, had its epicenter in the Solfatara area, already known for its intense geothermal activity.
According to the Vesuvius Observatory, this was the second seismic event of the day: a first shock, of magnitude 1.7, was recorded at 7:27.
The earthquake was clearly felt by the population, especially in Pozzuoli, where many residents reported hearing a loud bang, probably generated by the superficial shaking of the ground.
The mayor of Pozzuoli, Gigi Manzoni, has invited citizens to remain calm and to report any critical issues by contacting the Municipal Police or Civil Protection. "The event may have been accompanied by a roar heard by residents in the area near the epicenter," reads an update published on the Facebook page of the Municipality.
Local authorities remain in contact with monitoring agencies to follow the evolution of the situation. At the moment, no damage to people or things has been reported.

This morning there was an earthquake that scared everyone a little. The depth was low and I was at home in Pozzuoli and I heard a loud noise. Let's hope there are no other similar events.
