A necessary dialogue to combat bullying
During the meeting, different aspects of bullying were addressed, from its definitions to its various forms, through the causes and consequences. The speakers explored the role of the protagonists: the victim, the bully and the witness, underlining the importance of prevention and strategies to combat these harmful behaviors.
Although some consider it a simple “prank,” bullying is a serious problem that can leave deep scars. From physical aggression to verbal harassment, to the digital threats of cyberbullying, every form of abuse undermines the self-esteem and serenity of the victims.
A Shared Commitment to a Safer Community
The speakers, including Biagio Chiariello, Colonel of the Local Police and contact for legality in the territories, Patrizio Ricchiello, President of the National Fire Brigade Association, Naples Section, and Don Ciro Russo, Parish Priest of the Ludovico D'Angiò Marano Parish, reiterated how essential it is to involve families, schools, associations and parishes in the fight against bullying.
Headteacher Teresa Formichella highlighted how initiatives of this type contribute to creating a safer and more respectful educational environment, where every student can feel protected.
Awareness and Action: The Key to a Bully-Free Future
The event demonstrated that prevention comes through information and dialogue. As the motto on the event poster states:
“Beyond the screen, there is a person. Behind every word, there is an emotion. Let's connect with respect, let's break down bullying!”
A clear and powerful message that invites everyone to do their part. To eradicate the phenomenon, a collective commitment is needed, involving every segment of society. Let's connect with respect!
