"Estate a Napoli returns with a new, broader formula, enriched in quality and artistic languages - he claims Sergio Locoratolo, coordinator of cultural policies of the Municipality of Naples – A new Summer in Naples in line with the cultural planning project desired by the Administration led by Mayor Manfredi, in the name of a dynamic, inclusive and polycentric vision of the city.
A positive trend - continues Locoratolo - supported by concrete data on the expansion and regeneration of urban spaces, on the increase in the entities involved and the investments implemented. Let's start with the spaces: from 10 municipal cultural sites we have gone in the last three years to over 50 spaces rediscovered or in agreement; 8 municipal sites out of 10 have been affected by important maintenance, refunctionalization and restoration interventions from 2022 to today (completed or in progress) for an unprecedented total investment by the Municipality of over 15 million euros.
A tangible sign is represented by the Maschio Angioino, the privileged location of this Summer, which with the redevelopment works and the exhibition "Napoli Metafisica" by Mimmo Jodice in just over a month has registered over 36.000 visitors, with an increase of over 120% on 2024. With reference to participation: in 3 years the number of associations, bodies and companies involved has increased by +114%, a growth also determined by the increase in the budget foreseen for cultural projects and the consequent increase in activities: from 980 thousand euros allocated to the Culture area in 2021 to 10,8 million euros in 2024 with a number of projects increased from 200 in 2021 to 1500 in 2024. "
