NApoli– Recycling is changing in the heart of the city. Underground bins will be installed in 18 squares and streets in the historic center, a new development designed to improve urban decor and the efficiency of the waste management system.
The project, promoted by ASIA Napoli in collaboration with the municipal administration, involves the placement of new underground containers in strategic points of the center, including Corso Arnaldo Lucci, Piazza Cavour, Piazza Vittoria, Piazza Dante, Via Toledo, Via Foria and Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli.
The underground bins, completely invisible when not in use, aim to reduce the visual impact of traditional street bins and encourage more sustainable behavior among citizens.
New rules for a cleaner city
In parallel with the launch of the initiative, ASIA has launched a new calendar for separate waste collection, available on the company's official website. Residents are encouraged to properly separate household waste and dispose of it in appropriate containers, following the instructions provided by the Municipality and ASIA.
The criteria for disposing of non-recyclable waste, such as diapers, polystyrene, cosmetics, toothpaste tubes, gum, and dirty rags, remain unchanged. These must be thrown in the unsorted gray bin.
Towards a more sustainable Naples
The introduction of underground bins is part of a broader plan to raise public awareness of urban environmental protection and increase recycling rates, with the goal of bringing Naples closer to the standards of major European cities.
