A pistol silencer hidden in the center armrest of the car, as if it were any other object. This discovery was enough to lead to the arrest of a 35-year-old with a criminal record, stopped by the Salerno Police Headquarters' Flying Squad during a check in Battipaglia.
The man, with numerous criminal records for property crimes, drug trafficking, and illegal possession of weapons, was intercepted by officers while driving a vehicle that immediately attracted attention due to its suspicious behavior.
The personal and vehicle search confirmed the investigators' fears: hidden inside the armrest was a silencer, an accessory intended for Weapons short, capable of reducing the noise of gunshots.
A disturbing sign that, according to investigators, suggests not only the availability of weapons, but also their potential use in far more serious criminal contexts.
The 35-year-old was subsequently arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and taken to prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities pending validation of his arrest. This incident confirms how the Salerno area remains under constant surveillance for its exposure to illicit trafficking and armed petty crime.

It's strange how so many people don't respect the law, but I think this man needed help, not just to be arrested. Society should do more to prevent these crimes.
